CHICKEN PARM

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • pinch of garlic powder

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • fresh basil for garnish

  • 1 cup olive oil or olive oil spray

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Season chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. In 3 separate bowls, pour in bread crumbs, flour, and eggs.

  4. Dip chicken breast into the flour, then dip it into the egg, and then cover it in bread crumbs.

  5. Over medium to high heat, add olive oil to a skillet or spray skillet with olive oil spray.

  6. Add chicken to skillet. 

  7. Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes.

  8. Once cooked, add chicken to a baking sheet.

  9. Top chicken with tomato sauce.

  10. Cover with a few slices of fresh mozzarella, sprinkle with parm, and then season with salt and pepper. 

  11. Bake until the chicken is fully cooked through and the cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.

  12. Remove from the oven.

  13. Garnish with basil and enjoy!

Notes:

*the fry time is based on how thick the chicken breast is (adjust time according).
